Our journey

From our first experiments to the game we’re building today

Battle Arena Masters did not start in Unity. Here is how it grew from our first experiments into the game we are building today.

The timeline

Simon and Rickard are writing down the story of how BAM came to be. It will appear here once they have checked it.

Development history

The HTML5 prototype

Before Unity, we built a playable prototype of the game in HTML5 (test builds up to v0.8.16). This is what it looked like. The Unity game is a new version and can look and play differently.

Hunter fighting near a bush on the Garden map, with the minimap in the corner and the SPECIAL button charging
Meteor Mage with Clear Mind ready on the Lite Arena map, between two long bush strips
Brawler on the Garden map with Iron Will shown at the top of the screen
Blue team pushing up the Lite Arena lane with minions while the red Hunter and Mage defend

Screenshots from the HTML5 test build v0.8.16, bot match.

The match that would not end

Our first test matches on v0.8.0 simply did not end. This is how that became Fast Arena.
